Hello Everyone;

ABOUT THE OWNER

My name is Jefferson Hawkins, and everyone calls me Jefferson or J. C..   Let me first say I am by no means a hero, or anyone special.  Nor did I set out to break any records.  I am just an injured worker, and have become disabled from what happened at the accident just like so many other Ohio Injured Workers’.  What it all boils down to is when I got hurt I went in search of my rights and responsibilities.  Since I was never taught about what I needed to do.  I could not even find anything in the web.  I did happen to come across one (1) web site http://www.workerscompensationinsurance.com/.  However; this was not quite what I was looking for.  So I set out to figure out a way to not only find out exactly what my rights and responsibilities are, and I did not and do not want anyone else to have go thru what all I have gone thru or to end up like me.

So before I forget I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOR AM I ATTEMPTING TO PRACTICE LAW, but like EVERY AMERICAN we are supposed to KNOW THE LAW. (I.e. Click it, or Ticket; Open containers; etc…) Along with knowing where to find it, because ignorance of the law is “NO EXCUSE”!

Please forgive me, but I am not; at this time; going to go into exactly what all happened or has happened to me since the date of the accident.  This is for a number of reasons:

  1. I DO NOT want anything that I put in here to be misunderstood and/or taken out of context before my cases make it to court.
  2. I DO NOT want to possibly taint anyone that may live anywhere near me that could and/or would end up on a jury at one of my cases.
  3. HOWEVER: once I get thru ALL of the court proceedings; then and only then will I post what all took place

Now then; I am the owner of:

Ohio Injured Workers Coalition

A non-profit organization which is register with the State of Ohio

www.oiwco.com

Which is said like “OI” as in “BOY”; the “W” is silent; and the “CO” is said like “Co-partner”

www.ohioinjuredworkerscoalitiononline.com

This is what “OIWCO” stands for, and will get you to the same web site.

www.injuredworkers4change.info

This is for things to come, and that are being worked on.

www.victorvon.com

I own it, but DO NOT have that much control over it, nor do I pay for the site.

ALL WEB SITES, MATERIALS, PAYMENTS, ETC ARE GENERALLY PAID FOR BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN MYSELF.  OIWCO WORKS STRICKLY FROM THE KINDNESS OF OTHERS, AND I DO NOT PERSONALLY SEE THE 1ST PENNY OF ANY AND/OR ALL DONATIONS.  The only thing I do is have control of is the MAIN OIWCO web site, Forum, InjuredWorkers4Change.info, and some input on the www.victorvon.com.

I met the original owner of the OIWCO site a number of years ago now, and after talking with him we came to an agreement.  Which was I would purchase the web site and everything associated with OIWCO from him (lock, stock, and barrel), because he did not have enough time to keep up with the ever changing needs of OIWCO.

This was not to mention the facts:

  1. That this would allow me the opportunity and ability to try and regain some of my prior capabilities that I had before the accident.
  2. It helps to keep me from becoming a total couch potato.  Granted I can NOT sit and work on it for hours on end like before the accident.
  3. To be able to understand my rights and responsibilities since I am 40 years old, and have worked a paying job since I was 14.  Which I can honestly say that “NO ONE” has ever explained my rights and responsibilities when it comes to the www.OHIOBWC.com and www.OHIOIC.com.
  4. There are other people out there going thru the same things as I am, and they don’t know what their right and responsibilities are either. So
  5. I do not want someone else to have to end up like me.
    1. Not being able to work.  Having my mind say “WORK”, and my body say “What are you talking about?!  There’s NO WAY!”
    2. Not knowing what I am supposed to do and not supposed to do.
    3. Loosing their home because of not being able to work. (Mine was lost after moving into the house my now ex-wife and I moved into one (1) week to the day before we were married 16 years prior.)
    4. Going thru Bankruptcy. (Mine was after 16 years of marriage.)
    5. Lose of a marriage.  (Mine was after 17 years of marriage.)
    6. Lose of my health benefits.
    7. Having to go to “Job & Family Services” (Welfare) and live on $115.00 a month check and $162.00 a month of Food Stamps.  This after working all my life and never having been on assistance before.
    8. Having to live with my Best Friend, because if not for the fact of my Best Friend I would be litterly living under the nearest bridge.   Due to the fact $115.00 will not quite cover the rent and utilities each month.
    9. Signing up for assisted housing.
    10. The lose of ALL of my driving privileges (Regular Driving License and my CDL Class A’s endorsed with Hazmat and Doubles & Triples) , having to learn how to be out in the public again, doing things for myself again, having to ask others for a ride to get medications/food/necessities, and even riding on the local bus system for myself.
    11. Seeing more Doctor’s in the last 3 years; than I have seen in my entire life.  Being on 8 different medications each day, or a total of 19 pills a days.  Which MUST BE TAKEN AT CERTAIN TIMES, or my body systems go totally and completely out of whack.
    12. Being diagnosed with more things than I’ve ever even heard of.
    13. Not being able to be up but a few hours before having to lie down due to the pain(s).
    14. Lose of family and friends, because of not being able to leave the house.
    15. Not being able to get a hug from a loved one, or to even pick up a youngster (3 nieces in my case) that I love.

There is a VERY LARGE number of people whom agree with what I am doing, but do not want out in the lime light.  This is perfectly fine with me, because they are helping in the way(s) that they can.  I do network with them, and there are even those who like me have the attitude of “What else can they take from me?  They’ve taken everything physical that they can from me, but they will never take my Honesty, my Moral’s, my Ethic’s, or my Principles.  What can they do; put me in jail?  For goodness sake if they even do that then I’ll at least have a roof over my head, 3 square meals a day and medical attention as needed.  Shoot I probably would have more RIGHTS in jail than I do outside of it.”

Now then I do not like to deal in anything but the FACTS!  The word FACT in writing means First, Accurate, Correct, & True.  So unless things fall into these categories I WILL NOT let things rest till they do.  This is whether or not it is anyone in the BWC, IC, IME, DEP, AOR’s, IW’s, POR, or any dealing with an Ohio WC claim.  I’m sorry I am a very honest and an upfront person and I expect the same in return.  I say what I mean, and I mean what I say.

Well now then you know roughly about me; I hope this encourages you will join OIWCO, and help not only me but other IW’s get things changed to HELP THE TRULY INJURED WORKERS’ OF OHIO.

Sincerely,

Jefferson Hawkins
